Celebrating Men’s Fashion Trends by Becky Kung
Even though Father’s Day just passed by, what better timing than now to celebrate the guys in our lives by taking a closer look at men’s fashion trends this season. Without a doubt, men’s style is intriguing. Let’s face it, lately us gals have been digging guy’s fashion so much so that we’ve been taking inspiration with our “borrowed from the boys” looks in pairing boyfriend blazers, boyfriend jeans, plaid and other great trends that guys have rocked for years.
Let’s take a closer look to see what’s hot for men this summer season, girls be sure to take notes as well!
- White on White:
Girls are wearing all white. Guess what?! Guys can too! White on white has become a popular go-to for men this summer season. It’s fresh and cool and also looks stylish when paired with converse sneakers for a laid-back vibe.

- Graphics:
Graphics on men’s shirts is a great way to create interest with the look. Anything from fun slogans to numbering, graphic shirts are the thing for summer. This particular look is stylish when paired with an anorak jacket over top as shown below. However a great way to change up the look is to opt for a blazer as the layering piece, giving an ultra-cool unexpected twist in the mixing of casual with elevated.

- Bermuda Shorts:
Popular designers showed us on spring 2015 runways that Bermuda shorts are back for men in a big way. Bermuda shorts are typically just slightly above the knee, popular in the pastel colors as well as darker shades. This style looks good on guys when paired with a bulkier top layer such as a loose tee shirt or a wool sweater.

- Khaki Suits:
No longer is it only about dark navy blue and black suits for guys to look sharp and well-dressed. Khaki suits are the new black, and the key to this style trend is going monochromatic, by pairing both the jacket and pants with khaki. The khaki suits can be paired with either a colorful top underneath to add a pop of color, or even a khaki hue for triple matching.

- The Washed-out Jeans Return:
These hot jeans are back! Making a big statement is the way this trend has returned. These jeans can be worn in a sophisticated version paired with a leather jacket and button-up top. Alternatively, for a funky street style look, go for a fun pairing on top such as stripes or denim on denim!

Styling Men’s Summer Hair Styles by Amy B of Diva Salon and Spa
Hey boys! How much time do you spend styling your hair? If “wash and go” is the order of the day, your styling products must be easy to use and perform well. Aveda Men Pureformance™ products work on both wet and dry hair.
TIP 1: Your styling product choice depends on your hair type (fine, medium or coarse). Fine hair requires some bulking and not too much shine so we recommend Aveda Men Pureformance™ Grooming Clay. Coarse hair needs more hold so Aveda Men Pureformance™ Firm Hold Gel is a great choice
TIP 2: Where there is volume, a blow dryer has entered the scene. Don’t be afraid to use heat styling tools if necessary. On your short hair, it won’t take long! Pay attention to your stylist at the salon to pick up some tips and tricks.
TIP 3: Use hair spray to ensure sure that style stays in place all day!
The Fringe – Styling product/tools: Aveda Men Pureformance™ Pomade and your fingers. Work a small amount through towel-dried hair and push your hair into the desired shape.
